money can’t buy you happiness

People tell you that money can’t buy you happiness. ………. Ya right!

Let me ask you something: If that were true case then WHY do people spend the vast majority of their lives chasing money?

It’s true money can’t buy happiness when you have enough money for your basic needs.
BUT it does buy away a lot of unhappiness up until that point.

Money does buys a lot of things:
Money buys food, you are very unhappy without food.
Money buys water, you are very unhappy without water.
Money buys clothes, you are very unhappy without clothes.
Money buys transportation, you are less happy without the ability to go places.
Money buys a house, you are very unhappy without a place to live.
Money buys comfort, you are unhappy when comfort is hard to find.

Once your basic needs are met, money buys luxuries, but the amount they actually increase your happiness is surprisingly little.
What separates the rich from the poor is that the rich know that “spending your money doesn’t buy you happiness”.

The rich know that simply having money buys you freedom.
Simply having money buys you peace of mind.

Let me ask you: Which would make you happier in the long run?
#1 a new car and no more money than you would have normally.
#2 An extra $10,000 in your bank which you never touched.

Money doesn’t buy you happiness, because when you spend it you’re right back to where you were before you had any money. The rich know this. They know that money is a fleeting thing. This is why they don’t simply save money.

They INVEST it not in stocks and bonds but in companies that produce tangible products and services, and earn more money autonomously. If you give a rich person several thousand dollars they will invest it into something that earns them more money later.

If you give a poor person a thousand dollars assuming their basic needs and bills are met, they’ll take that money and spend it on things that they don’t need, cool gadgets, a TV. Whatever it is it doesn’t earn any more money

In the end it all comes down to mindset.

The poor know that gravy trains don’t last,so they ride them hard and fast, spending everything they have just to get short term enjoyment while they can.

The upper middle class know that gravy trains don’t last, so they pocket the extra and save it for a rainy day.

The rich know that gravy trains don’t last so they find ways to get their money to earn more money, while they use only what they need for themselves. Any extra they use to get more trains going to create multiple streams of income, so if one gravy train crashes they never have to walk.

Just mull it over for a while.

Until next time —– Seeker
